ICON & The Black Roses :: Line-Up :: Johnny Icon - Vocals Lucien Yorg - Guitars Sean Rose - Bass Jax Cairn - Drums Antonio Agate - Keyboards :: Biography :: What we know today to be the band Icon and The Black Roses started four years ago when Johnny decided to start his own band in 1999. He met David, the band's former drummer and together they started gBlue Obsessionh. During this period they had a hard time finding suitable elements for the band and after several people coming in and out of the band, Johnny and David decided to record a demo anyways. Together they went to Espinha, who was a good friend of Johnny's since childhood, and they started recording a demo at his place. In the meantime Luis (keyboard player) and Ana (singer) joined the band in time to record their parts in songs like gRememberh and gNo Moreh . The demo called g4 Winter Songsh took six months to record. Soon after the recordings were finished, the band decided to send the demo all over Europe . Later on they would sign a deal with Dark-Wings records. In the meantime, and having the demo in their hands, Sean Rose joined the band after a glamorous audition. Within months, Dark-Wings were demanding a 5 Track CD to be edited in Germany . So the band went into their own studio, which they acquired soon after signing the deal, and recorded 5 tracks (including Black Cage and Dreams and Silver Tears) mixed by Charlie Bauerfiend in Tenerife. In the meantime Sebastian was looking for a band after getting out of a Black Metal band that collapsed soon after his departure. So, he heard of Blue Obsession and decided he was the right guitar player for the band. With this new formation the band decided to call itself gICONh. Time went by with the band preparing their live shows but after a while our big friend David left the band and Mike Thorne replaced him (after a successful show of wrecking drumsticks). When the EP was ready, the label then decided it didn't have any commercial value as it was only a 5 tracks CD. So this EP was never released. They decided it was time to record a real album and Tommy Newton was the producer for that. So the band recorded 4 tracks in Lisbon with Tommy Newton (which included songs like Crucify you love and Angel), unfortunately there was no chance of working with him for the final production. The label picked Michael Gerlach for the production, he did it with Max Devil and the band. It was later mixed by Espinha and Max. During this process Luis left the band and Ana was dismissed. So the band took a long journey to find a new keyboard player, and the female vocals would be sung by Johnny himself whenever he had an identity crisis. Did I say long? ok it took them one week and gAdam the master of keyboardsh Nox joined the band. After this love and hate stories the band decided to finally change their name to gIcon and The Black Rosesh and are now ready to spread Glitter, Metal and Roses all over the world. :: Contact :: http://www.iconandtheblackroses.com/ |

Cruci-Fiction :: Line-Up (Left to Right) :: Andrey Malinowski - Drums Vladimir Sumashedov - Guitars Dmitry Kosarev - Vocals Dmitry Slesarenko - Bass Vitaly Ustinov - Keyboards :: Biography :: Cruci-Fiction was created in July, 2002. Its founders are a bass guitarist Dmitry Slesarenko and a guitarist Vladimir Sumashedov. Being acquainted they played in various bands long time. In the end the commonality of musical sights and ideas resulted in creation of a new band. Their choice was melodious, slightly hard music and they started to create material. Then a long search of musicians began. At the beginning of October a vocalist "Taja" (Slide Show) appeared in the band. She worked with the band till January and then suddenly left it. Searching more European sounding the band invited a new vocalist Violetta who wrote new lyrics and vocal scores. At that time the band got its name - Cruci-Fiction. Approximately at that time Vitaly Ustinov (keys) and Andrey Malinovsky (drums) joined the band. Andrey worked with one of the most known Moscow gothic-rock groups Doppelganger. In the meantime a crisis was drawing to a head in the band. Dmitry and Vladimir were dissatisfied with Violetta's vocal. Besides she did not wish to work at her voice and introduced constant emotional pressure in work. A scandal was inevitable! In the middle of June Violetta left the band. Having come on Violetta's place Dmitry Kosarev harmoniously added the signature sounding of the band. This finished the search of scoring. In 2003 the band consisted of: Dmitry Kosarev - vocals Vladimir Sumashedov - guitar Dmitry Slesarenko - bass Vitaly Ustinov - keys Andrey Malinovsky - drums Soon Cruci-Fiction started to create new material, a concert program and recording an album "On The Verge Of Tears" consisting of twelve compositions: 1. ON THE VERGE OF TEARS 2. TRUE OR FALSE 3. GRACE ME 4. PRAY BABY 5. BLEEDING (Loose me) 6. LET HIM CRY 7. BUTTERFLY 8. ANGEL 9. SOMEBODY TO LOSE 10. BLACK SUICIDE 11. LUNATIC (MY B_ANGEL) Bonus Track: 12. PRAY BABY (ambient spring valley rmx by Timooon) At the beginning of 2004 the musicians decided to stir up their music. The individual style determining a musical and visual concept of the band was created. Its name was "new glam". Thus no Russian band had done what Cruci-Fiction did: they invented their own signature image and style which would take more conceptually certain shape in the future. In 2004 Cruci-Fiction appeared in "Total Show" on MTV, on CD Gothic compilation gShadowplayh It gave 23 live concerts in 7 night-clubs including a joint concert with a Finnish group Fragile Hollow. It also gave some concerts in St. Pete. The result of the work in 2004 became the album "On The Verge Of Tears" which was issued by gMystery of Soundh at the end of December. On May, 8, 2005 Andrey Malinovsky left the band. In May, 2005 a collection "Heartache Special" appeared. Besides Cruci-Fiction such groups as AI-2 and CHIRON took part in the compilation. In May, 2005 Cruci-Fiction signed a contract with a Japanese label gAmbivalence Musich on release of the album "On The Verge Of Tears" in Japan. As a bonus the album had two previously unreleased tracks: gNegative Boyh and gDying Without Youh. The release was planned on July, 2005. In June, 2005 Alexander Shapovalov came to the band on Andrey Malinovsky's place. On June, 22, 2005 the soloist Dmitry Kosarev left the band. It was a result of disagreements on creativity and relations between the members of the band. Those changes have not affected the further destiny of the band. It continues to work actively and creates new compositions! Since October, 2005 the band has consisted of: Vladimir Sumashedov - guitar Dmitry Slesarenko - bass Vitaly Ustinov - keys Alexander Shapovalov - drums The long-awaited release of a plate gOn The Verge Of Tearsh in Japan that was delayed for uncertain time took place at the beginning of October, 2005! :: Contact :: http://www.cruci-fiction.ru/ |
